Valentine’s Day dinner ended very differently than I had imagined.
Christmas
In theory, the Valentine’s Day It should be simple.
Nice dinner.
A quiet afternoon.
A time to feel appreciated and connected.
At least, this is what I expected when my boyfriend insisted on going to dinner at a restaurant luxury “special”.
For several days he had shown unusual enthusiasm about it.
I was talking about the restaurant like it was something important.
Laser
“Believe me,” he said. “You’ll live an unforgettable night.”
I didn’t realize it at the time. I thought I just wanted to do something good for the occasion.
So I accepted.
I had no idea how the night would be held.
A dinner that seemed more abundant than necessary.
The restaurant was one of those elegant places where everything seemed to have been carefully designed.
Soft lighting.
Relaxing music.
Menu with short descriptions that give the impression of being expensive.
A place where even water seems to be an integral part of the experience.
My boyfriend seemed proud to be there.
He gives order with confidence.
I suggested dishes I had never tried before.
At first glance, it will look like a romantic night.
Extracted from a movie.
We laughed.
We’ll resent him later.
We liked the food.
But at some point, the tone started to change.
At first, it was subtle.
